Little Giant Steam Engine

Bicycle Collection

Hand Forged Velocipede Circa 1859; this bicycle is thought to be the blacksmithing work of the Kimball Brothers of Portland, Maine. These carriage makers produced a velocipede of this design for a short period in the 1850s. These types of conveyances were known as "bone shakers" for obvious reasons.

Antique Engine Repair & Maintenance Class

Offered at the former Willowbrook Museum in 2014-2015, this workshop involved disassembly, replacement of parts and sometimes parts fabrication. Six engines within the museum's collection ran again as a result of class work. Curran Village was gifted much of Willowbook's remaining collection of early gas engines. Restoration, repair and maintenance of the combined collections of Curran and Willowbrook are the focus of class work. We plan to offer these workshops again starting in 2020; contact us, if you are interested. (207) 205-4849.

An "Ordinary", circa 1870s, a.k.a. "High Wheeler", or "Penny Farthing" in the Curran Village bicycle collection. It was exhibited at Pat's Bicycle Shop in Brewer, ME in 2017.
